The challenge
Masefield were a capable and growing business, successfully delivering work through private-sector clients and Tier 1 contractors.

They had secured repeat work and were regularly pricing opportunities, but access to wider markets particularly public-sector routes was limited.


Masefield:
※were bidding through private companies rather than the public sector
※had no formal management systems in place beyond Health & Safety
※relied on indirect routes to market, often being appointed under Tier 1 contractors
※recognised that growth was becoming constrained

They knew they needed to invest in better structure and systems to grow but didn’t know where to start and this wasn’t their area of expertise.


Continuing without change risked stunted growth and missed opportunities.

The decision to act
Having worked together previously, Andy already understood how I work and the value I bring in helping businesses grow their opportunity pipeline.

When I launched SPOC Consultancy, he saw an opportunity to take action and invest in the foundations needed to support the next stage of growth.
The priority wasn’t chasing individual tenders, it was getting the business properly set up to access more opportunities in a structured, sustainable way.

The approach
This is an ongoing engagement, delivered through a monthly retainer.
I have been building Masefield’s tender and compliance foundations from the ground up, acting as a single point of contact and leading the work end-to-end.


To date, this has included:

※building compliant evidence aligned to Constructionline Gold requirements
※structuring systems to support future
